ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE
ICE FISHING COMPETITIONS OF THE SŁUPSK DISTRICT OF THE POLISH ANGLING ASSOCIATION
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association has entrusted the organisation of the friendly ice fishing competition to the PZW Club in Potęgowo. The competition will be held as an individual event in the senior category on Lake Darżyńskie on 22 February 2026. The minimum sizes and closed seasons applicable at the fishing ground are in accordance with those in force in the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association.
Eligibility: Competitors representing the PZW District’s local branches in Słupsk are eligible to take part in the competition. Entries are accepted by telephone on 59 843 63 41 at the PZW Słupsk District Office until 18 February 2026.
The number of competitors taking part in the competition is set at: a minimum of 15 people for the competition to go ahead.
The entry fee of 80 zł per competitor must be paid by 18 February2026 to the BNP PARIBAS bank account 89 1600 1462 1853 5624 4000 0001, with the payment reference: ‘Ice Fishing Competition’, and please state the competitor’s full name. The entry fee covers: trophies and certificates for the winners, meals and drinks for competitors, judges’ fees and other organisational costs. The entry fee is to be paid by the clubs or by individual competitors.
Competitors taking part in the competition are required to carry their fishing licences and PZW membership cards with up-to-date fees.
Competitors are to assemble on 22 February 2026 at 7.00 am in the car park by Lake Darżyńskie.
Organisation of the competition – the competition will be held using the ‘live fish’ format; therefore, each competitor must have a water container with a minimum capacity of 10 litres to ensure the safe keeping of live fish. Both float fishing and mormyshka fishing are permitted in the competition. The use of bait tied in bunches or stuck to the hook is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use stationary feeders, drills other than hand-operated ones, and hooks for ‘landing’ fish. The bait limit is a maximum of 2 litres of moistened and sieved bait ready for use (not packed tightly into a container). The limit on the use of bait of animal origin added to groundbait is 1 litre, including a maximum of 0.5 litres of bloodworm larvae. The limit for other worms is 0.5 litres. Bait of animal origin must be presented for inspection in separate containers (not mixed with groundbait). Further information will be provided by the Chief Judge during the pre-competition briefing.
Please note! In the event of the ice cover weakening or insufficient turnout for the competition, information regarding the cancellation of the competition will be available on 19 February 2026 by calling 59 843 63 41 between 8.00 – 15.00.

7.00 Competition office opens, registration of competitors
7.05 – 7.15 Official opening of the competition.
7.15 – 7.30 Competitors’ briefing – led by the Chief Judge. 7.30 – 7.40 Allocation of fishing positions and inspection of groundbait and bait 7.40 – 7.55 Competitors take up their positions.
7.55 – Signal I – taking up positions, marking fishing holes with flags
8.00 – Signal II – start of fishing
11.55 – Signal III – 5 minutes until the end of fishing
12.00 – Signal IV – end of fishing
12.00 – 12.30 – weighing of fish at the fishing stations
12.30 – 13.00 – judging panel deliberations, meal for competitors
Approx. 1.15 pm – presentation of trophies and certificates to the winners and conclusion of the competition.
