31st NORTHERN LANDS CUP
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) is organising the 31st Northern Lands Cup fly-fishing competition on 11–12 October 2025 on the rivers Gwda, Brda and Czernica. In addition to the individual classification, the competition will take the form of the OPEN NORTHERN LANDS FLY-FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR ANGLING CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS.
The competition will take place across three sectors:
Sector A: The River Gwda from the concrete bridge in Lubnica (Insect Park) to the three islands below the bridge in Lędyczek (the start of the Podgaje reservoir)
Sector B: The River Brda from the bridge in Żołna to the bridge at the mouth of the River Brda where it flows into Lake Szczytno
Sector C: The Czernica River from the bridge in Przyrzecze (below the fish farms) to its confluence with the Gwda River

Those wishing to book accommodation at the above-mentioned hotel should contact reception directly. The cost of accommodation for competitors is 180 zł per person and includes breakfast. Accommodation can be booked for the night from Friday to Saturday, as well as from Saturday to Sunday. When making your booking, please inform reception that you are taking part in the competition. The fee must be paid in person on the day the competition begins, when you check in at the hotel reception.
The entry fee is 200 zł gross. The fee covers the purchase of trophies, certificates and prizes, the chief judge’s remuneration and accommodation, dinner plus an evening get-together for anglers with refreshments (Saturday) and lunch (Sunday).
There is a strict ban on wearing shoes with metal studs on the hotel premises!
Due to the size of the Brda and Czarnica rivers, the organisers ask that participants refrain from fishing (or practising) in the designated sectors from 26 September 2025 inclusive
Training on the Gwda River is permitted up to and including 8 October 2025. THANK YOU
The organiser accepts no liability for accidents occurring during the competition. Each participant is responsible for taking out their own insurance.
The organiser reserves the right to change the sectors and the competition programme.
COMPETITION RULES:
1/ The competition will be held using ‘live bait’.
2/ Flies must be tied on barbless hooks or hooks with the barbs removed.
3/ Each competitor must carry a landing net and a pen.
4/ All fish not subject to a closed season and measuring more than 30 cm will count towards the score.
5/ There is no daily catch limit.
6/ Negative scoring applies.
7/ Fishing will take place in pairs – a competing angler and a judging angler. The organisers will provide each pair with a tray and a measuring tape.
All details will be explained during the competitors’ briefing.

09.30–10.30: Opening of the competition and competitors’ briefing
10.30–11.00: Drawing of competitor pairs
11.00–12.00: Travel to the fishing venue
12.00 – 16.00 First round of the competition
16.00 – 17.30 Return to the meeting point, submission of entry cards
18.00 – 19.00 Dinner
19.00 – announcement of the results of the first round
20.00 – evening get-together for anglers with refreshments
12 October 2025 SUNDAY
08.00 – 09.00 breakfast
09.00 – 10.00 competitors’ briefing
10.00 – 11.00 travel to the fishing ground
11.00 – 15.00: Round 2 of the competition
15.00 – 16.30: Return to the meeting point, submission of entry cards
16.30 – 17.30: Lunch
17.30 – announcement of results and conclusion of the competition
Payment of the entry fee constitutes registration; the deadline for payment is 26 September 2025.
