Announcement No. 2
Qualifying rounds for the 2026 Polish Grand Prix in Carp Angling
Since 2025, quantitative and qualitative restrictions on the use of groundbait have been introduced on Lake Wandzińskie, following ichthyological studies carried out in the wake of multi-species fish die-offs that occurred in the autumn of the previous year. The restrictions apply to the use of raw, cooked and fermented grains such as maize, peas, lupin, tiger nuts, etc.
On a day-to-day basis, the use of tinned maize, hemp, pellets and protein balls is permitted, provided the quantity does not exceed 3 kg per day per angler.
In connection with the qualifying rounds for the 2026 Polish Carp Angling Grand Prix, taking place from 14–17 August 2025, certain restrictions have been lifted for the purposes of the competition.
A total quantity of groundbait (exclusively tinned maize, hemp and pellets) and bait equal to 40 kg per team is permitted for the duration of the competition; furthermore, as an exception, ground tiger nuts are permitted for use as groundbait, and whole tiger nuts are permitted only as hair rig bait.
We would like to point out that the Judging Panel has the right to inspect the quantity and quality of groundbait and bait. However, being familiar with the carp fishing community, the organiser is confident that the above regulation will be met with understanding and approval amongst the competitors.
