The Regional Executive Committee of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) held a scheduled meeting at its headquarters in Słupsk on Saturday 12 April 2025, chaired by Mr Teodor Rudnik, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. The meeting was attended by: the Chairman of the Regional Board, Mr Marian Zabłocki, and the Chairman of the Local Fishing Committee, Mr Jerzy Lubieński.
Following the approval of the agenda and the adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting, the Regional Executive Board’s Vice-Chairman for Organisational Affairs, Mr Marek Szczepański, presented a report on the progress of the reporting campaign within the PZW clubs. There are currently 45 branches operating in the district, with a total of 6,778 PZW members. ‘Not all branches submitted the documentation from their general meetings on time, but even so, it can be considered that the current documentation is largely in line with the Regional Organisation’s guidelines,’ stated Mr M. Szczepański. Following an analysis of the minutes, a list of motions was drawn up for consideration by the PZW Regional Organisation. Those present discussed the list of motions, agreeing that proposals concerning water management would be considered during the drafting of the stocking plan and new licences for 2025. It was agreed that the remaining matters would be discussed as current issues, and the clubs would receive a response to be included in the materials for the reporting and election meetings in 2025.
In turn, Mr M. Szczepański presented the minutes of the PZW Regional Badges Committee meeting held on 13 March. Following the reading out of the list of those honoured and awarded, the document was approved unanimously.
Information regarding the operations of the Voluntary Fisheries Guard indicates that it currently comprises 200 active guards, who took part in 1,487 patrols, including joint patrols with officers from the Voluntary Fisheries Guard and the Police. A total of 3,762 people were checked. During these operations, 348 offences were detected and 50 metres of net and 1 landing net were confiscated.
The meeting then reviewed the findings of the Commission for Stocking and Water Management. In total, in 2024, almost 100 per cent of the stocking plan was completed, at a cost of 932,000 zlotys. Fish stock worth 740,000 zlotys came from the Damnica Stocking Centre, whilst 230,000 zlotys were spent on purchasing stock from external sources. In addition, 25,000 zlotys’ worth of purchases were funded from special fishing grounds’ funds.
In 2025, the level of stocking will be similar to that achieved in 2024. A water management plan in line with this objective was presented and adopted unanimously.
Finally, a report was heard from Mr Tomasz Borowiecki regarding the training programme for treasurers prior to their integration into the PZW Central Database.
