Review of sporting activities amongst children and young people; active participation in tenders and competitions for the use of waters in 2024. Best wishes to anglers and their families.
At the headquarters of the Słupsk Regional Board of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) on Saturday 14 December 2024, chaired by Mr Teodor Rudnik, President of the Regional Board, the Regional Board held its scheduled meeting. The meeting was attended by: the Chairman of the Regional Committee, Mr Marian Zabłocki, and the Chairman of the Local Committee, Mr Jerzy Lubieński.
To begin with, the members of the PZW District Executive Committee reviewed the findings of the inspection carried out by the Regional Executive Committee at the ‘Wędkarz’ club in Słupsk, highlighting the need to draw up proposals for the club’s annual general meeting.
Next, Mr Mieczysław Siwiec discussed this year’s results regarding the organisation of events for children and young people, highlighting the growing importance of such activities within the clubs, as well as the high turnout at sporting and recreational events for children and young people.
A report assessing the district’s sporting activities in 2024 was presented by Mr Stanisław Szymański, emphasising that the athletes representing our district achieved significant results in fly fishing, surfcasting and carp fishing. The district organised this year’s 47th Polish Fly-Fishing Championships on the Łupawa River, which were won by Mr Andrzej Buśkiewicz from our district. To supplement this agenda item, a calendar of sporting events for 2025 was adopted, which will be published on the district’s website.
In turn, the District Organisation’s chairman, Mr Teodor Rudnik, discussed the current status of contacts and arrangements regarding the use of waters, so that the outcomes of these activities are included in the terms of next year’s licence for recreational fishing in the District’s waters.
Under ‘Any Other Business’, the Chairman introduced the District’s new chief accountant to the Regional Organisation members, and she was formally approved. The position of chief accountant was taken up by Ms Beata Kątnik, an experienced finance professional specialising in working with non-governmental organisations, a city councillor in Słupsk, and an expert in securing grants to fund the activities of non-governmental organisations.
The awarding of the Medal of Merit for Angling to Ms Lucyna Sawicka, a long-serving employee of the District, was particularly warmly received.
At the end of the meeting, President Teodor Rudnik extended his warmest Christmas and New Year wishes to the members of the District authorities and their families, as well as to all members of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) in our District.
