29th NORTHERN LANDS CUP
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) is organising the 29th Northern Lands Cup fly-fishing competition on the Łupawa River on 21–22 October 2023. In addition to the individual classification, the competition will take the form of the OPEN NORTHERN LANDS FLY-FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR ANGLING CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS.
The competition will take place across three sectors:
Sector A: from the bridge in Kozin (below the fish farms) to the power station in Łupawa
Sector B: from the power station in Łupawa to the bridge in Łebień
Sector C: from the footbridge by the mill in Damno to the weir in Zgojewo
The competition base will be located at the Zawiaty training and leisure centre (Czarna Dąbrówka) www.zawiaty.com.
The entry fee is 120 zł gross. The fee covers the cost of trophies, certificates and prizes, a barbecue, the chief judge’s remuneration and accommodation.
Accommodation and meals – 255 zł:
– one night’s accommodation at the centre
– meals (dinner, breakfast, lunch)
COMPETITION RULES:
1/ The competition will be held using ‘live fish’.
2/ Flies must be tied on barbless hooks or hooks with the barbs removed.
3/ Each competitor must carry a landing net and a pen.
4/ Grayling counts towards the score.
5/ There is no daily catch limit; the minimum size is 30 cm.
6/ Negative scoring applies.
7/ Fishing will take place in pairs – a competing angler and a judging angler. The organisers will provide each pair with a measuring tray.

08.00 – 09.30 registration and check-in
09.30 – 10.30: opening of the competition and competitors’ briefing
10.30 – 11.00: drawing of competitor pairs
11.00 – 12.00: travel to the fishing venue
12.00 – 16.00 Round 1 of the competition
16.00 – 17.30 Return to the meeting point
18.00 Dinner, announcement of Round 1 results
20.00 Barbecue
22 October 2023 SUNDAY
08.00 – 09.00 breakfast
09.00 – 10.00 competitors’ briefing
10.00 – 11.00 travel to the fishing ground
11.00 – 15.00: Round 2 of the competition
15.00 – 16.30: Return to the meeting point, handing in entry cards
16.30 – 17.30: Lunch, announcement of results and closing of the competition
