The Management Board of the PZW Słupsk District is organising a float fishing and casting competition on 27 May 2023 as part of the SŁUPSK YOUTH FISHING OLYMPICS. A competitor’s score will include tests on their knowledge of the PZW Amateur Fishing Regulations.
The angling competitions will be held using live bait at Łabędzi Pond in Słupsk. The casting competitions will take place in the areas adjacent to the Police Academy.
We invite teams of three pupils from primary schools within the area covered by the Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) to take part in the competition.
The competition will be held in both individual and team categories. Due to the limited number of fishing spots at the venue, participation will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Competitors should bring their own keepnets for storing the fish they catch. A limit of 3 litres of groundbait per competition round applies at the fishing ground. Competitors and supervisors are to assemble at Łabędzi Pond, next to the fountain, on 27 May at 7.00 am.

SŁUPSK YOUTH OLYMPICS
IN ANGLING
/Rules for participation and conduct of the Olympics/
RULES
§ 1
PARTICIPANTS
The competition is open to young people who are members of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) and form teams representing angling clubs run in primary schools.
§ 2
EVENTS
Competitors will compete in three events for the title of Champion of the Słupsk Youth Angling Olympics:
1. Test of knowledge of ecology and angling
2. Casting competition (2 events)
3. Float fishing competition
Re. 1. Environmental and angling knowledge test
– the questions are prepared by the Youth Committee
– a correct answer is worth 1 point, maximum 20 points

– Spinning accuracy – cast at the Arenberg target – event no. 3
– Target spinning – event no. 4
– Individual and team scoring
Re: 3. Float fishing competition
– teams of three compete
– the competition is held in a single round, in accordance with the RAPR and the regulations set out in the ‘Rules for the Organisation of Competitive Angling’
– individual and team scoring
– the organiser may shorten the duration of the competition in exceptional circumstances
§ 3
SCORING – RESULTS
1. Final scores at the various levels of the competition:
– the individual championship is the total of points scored by a competitor in all events
– the team championship is the sum of the points scored by all competitors in a given team across all events
2. In the event of a tie, the final position shall be determined by the number of points scored in:
a) the test, and if still tied, then
b) the float fishing competition, and if still tied, then
c) the casting competition
§ 4
ORGANISER
1. The organiser of the Olympics is the Słupsk Regional Organisation of the Polish Angling Association (ZO PZW).
2. The organisational costs of the event are covered by the Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (ZO PZW).
3. The travel costs for participants and their supervisor to the competition shall be covered by the sending organisation.
§ 5
PRIZES
The Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (ZO PZW) will provide trophies and certificates for the individual and team winners, and a meal for all participants.
