In response to numerous enquiries from anglers regarding the possibility of fishing for pike in 2023, we would like to inform you that the closed season runs until 30 April 2022.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 7(2) of the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of 12 November 2001 on the fishing of fish and the conditions for the rearing, breeding and fishing of other aquatic organisms ‘If the first or last day of the closed season for a specific species of fish or crayfish falls on a public holiday, the closed season shall be shortened by that day.’
As the last day of the closed season for pike in 2023 falls on a Sunday, the closed season is shortened to 29 April 2023, and pike may be caught from 30 April 2023.
