Name, dates and venue of the competition
The Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) announces that, on the instructions of the PZW Executive Board, it is organising the the National Carp Competition, counting towards the 2023 Polish Grand Prix, to be held in Człuchów from 6 to 9 July 2023, at Lake Urzędowe (Szpitalne).

Rules
The competition will be held in accordance with the rules set out in Part 8 of the General Regulations of the Polish Angling Association (ZOSW).
Competition area
The competition will take place in a single sector. The fishing ground is Lake Urzędowe. Fishing stations will be located on the western and southern shores of the lake.
Fishing ground description
Lake Urzędowe, due to its close proximity to the hospital, is often referred to as ‘Szpitalne’. It is situated in the western part of Człuchów, running in a meridional direction. It is a through-flow reservoir, fed from the east by the waters of Miejskie, whilst the River Chrząstowa has its source in the lake to the west. The southern part of the lake consists mainly of a bay with an island. The area surrounding the lake is bordered by a municipal allotment complex, farmland and wasteland. The River Chrząstowa also flows out from here.
The emergent vegetation of the lake is moderately developed, consisting mainly of common reed, which covers approximately 50 per cent of the shoreline. The submerged vegetation is sparse, consisting of stiff hornwort, round-leaved buttercup and Canadian waterweed. Jetties are present along all sections of the shoreline. Shore fishing is possible in many places.
The lake bed is largely covered by a layer of organic sediment, though there are also sections of hard, stony
and sandy sections. The water is light green in colour. Its clarity is improving significantly year on year. The reservoir, like all the lakes in Człuchów, lies
within the boundaries of the ‘Człuchów Lakes Complex’ Protected Landscape Area.
Fish species present: pike, perch, zander, ruffe, European catfish, eel, burbot, ide, carp, tench, bream, roach, silver bream, common and silver crucian carp, rudd, bleak and gudgeon.
Carp of all sizes are found here, including specimens weighing over 20 kg. Those in the 6–13 kg range predominate. There is also a significant population of carp weighing up to 2 kg.
Grass carp are practically absent. Isolated specimens may be found. The populations of bream, silver bream and tench are very numerous. The striped crayfish is found here.
Maximum depth: 16.5 m
Average depth: 7.6 m
Who is eligible to compete
Teams (consisting of two people) taking part in the 2022 Polish Carp Championships are eligible to compete.
Exact costs of participation in the competition
The entry fee is 1,300 PLN per team (two-person). For each additional participant – coach, team manager or accompanying person – the fee is 200 PLN.

Organisational information
It will be possible to drive up to each fishing spot and unload equipment. At spots located along the town promenade, cars must be parked in the designated car park. At the other spots, cars may remain near the fishing area.
Each team should have one mobile phone with a camera and the WhatsApp app installed. The number for the judges’ use must be provided during team registration.
Meals will be provided for every competitor and registered participant from 6 to 9 July. On 6, 7 and 8 July, meals will be delivered to the fishing spots (between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm). On 9 July, the meal will be served before the official closing ceremony.
Competition schedule
6 July 2023
09.00 – participants to assemble at the PZW Marina in Człuchów, 3 Słowackiego Street; team registration and distribution of starter packs;
10.00 – official opening of the competition, draw for fishing spots;
10.30 am – teams make their way to their fishing spots;
11.30 am – first signal – take up positions;
1.30 pm – second signal – start of the competition;
9 July 2023
1.00 pm – third signal – 15 minutes until the end of the competition;
1.15 pm – fourth signal – end of fishing;
1.30 pm – fifth signal – end of the competition;
3.00 pm – lunch, awards ceremony and conclusion of the competition at the PZW Marina in Człuchów, 3 Słowackiego Street.
Other matters
In addition to the standard prizes (cups for 1st–3rd places, certificates for 1st–6th places), additional individual prizes will be awarded for: the largest fish of the competition, the first fish to score points in the competition and the last fish to score points in the competition.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in the team classification.
