12th National Boat-Based Spinning Competition for Pairs
Człuchów, Lake Rychnowskie, 19 September 2021
The Człuchów branch of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) organised the National Boat-Based Spinning Competition for Pairs for the twelfth time. A total of 57 two-person teams registered for the competition. The competitors came mainly from northern Poland, but there were even anglers from Silesia.
Sunday 19 September was cloudy and windy, but fortunately not rainy. An unfavourable northerly wind was blowing, which could have thwarted even the best competitors.
They set off at 8.00 am. The first reports from the water about pike catches came in after just a few minutes. Thanks to the three judges’ boats supporting the competition, the fish caught were immediately measured, photographed and released back into the water. This gave the competition jury a real-time overview of the situation on the water. During the six hours of the competition, 18 scoring pike over 45 cm and exactly 100 scoring perch over 20 cm were caught. In addition, there were several times as many fish that fell just short of the minimum length required by the rules, including both perch and pike.
The largest pike of the competition was caught by Tomasz Jakubowie, a member of team no. 29 and a resident of Słupsk. The pike measured 87.0 cm. The largest perch caught, however, was a 45 cm specimen, caught by Marek Myszka from Człuchów, representing team no. 54.
The competition ended at 2.00 pm. This was followed by the official announcement of the results, the presentation of honorary and material prizes, and the handing out of souvenirs. The summary was attended by the Mayor of Człuchów, Ryszard Szybajło, the Head of the Człuchów Commune, Paweł Gibczyński, and Człuchów Town Council councillor Henryk Krusiński. To round off the event, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved, hot lunch.
Final standings:
1st place: Łukasz Trofimowicz and Tomasz Jakubowiak from Słupsk with a score of 3,470 points;
2 pike and 1 perch;
2nd place: Przemysław Kalinicz and Paweł Hałuszka from Szczecinek with a score of 2,610 points;
2 pike and 9 perch
3rd place: Marian Kuźniak and Wojciech Jażdżewski from Koczała and Człuchów with 2,330 points;
2 pike and 3 perch
4th place: Kacper Dowksza and Michał Wojcik from Człuchów and Debrzno with a score of 2,260 points;
1 pike and 5 perch
5th place: Jerzy Gancarz and Bogdan Winiarski from Mielno and Sopot with a score of 2,200 points;
1 pike and 8 perch
6th place: Dawid Szramke and Marcin Biełus from Człuchów with a score of 1,780 points.
11 perch.
It must be said that this time the people of Człuchów were ‘hospitable’.
All participants in the event received commemorative gifts.
The competition was held with financial support from the Człuchów Local Authority, the Town of Człuchów and Goodvalley Polska. Additional sponsors included: the Sports and Recreation Centre in Człuchów, the HOBBY fishing shop in Człuchów, and Print Vision Printing Works. The Człuchów WOPR (Water Rescue Service) assisted with the organisation, lending the organisers the use of its facilities.

Undoubtedly, the excellent work of the judging and organisational teams contributed to the positive reception of the entire event. The National Spinning Competition, held regularly on Lake Rychnowskie, is the largest angling event in our region, and its popularity is constantly growing.
