ANGLING COMPETITION – REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association hereby announces that, in light of the legal provisions set out in the published Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 29 May 2020 on the imposition of certain restrictions, orders and prohibitions in connection with the state of epidemic (Journal of Laws of 29 May 2020, item 964), it is now possible to organise competitive angling events.
The organiser at the level of the PZW organisational unit, i.e. the Branch Chairman or District Chairman, is responsible for organising these events and ensuring the safety of participants. The lifting of further restrictions does not relieve us of our responsibility! Let us remember, amongst other things, to maintain safe distances and to use face masks and hand sanitisers. Let us look after ourselves and others.
According to the interpretation provided by the Legal Adviser to the PZW Executive Board in Warsaw, “The possibility of organising sport fishing competitions, as indicated in the Notice, stems from the provisions of 6(10)(2) and (12)(1)(a)-(e) and (2) of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 29 May 2020, published in the Journal of Laws 2020, item 964.
The aforementioned paragraph 6(10)(2) of the Regulation establishes the possibility for organisational units of the PZW to organise and conduct sporting competitions, provided that the maximum number of participants does not exceed 150 people and there is no audience present.
In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 6(12)(1)(a) to (e) and (2), the organiser of a sporting event – in this case, a sporting competition – is responsible for the safety of participants and for organising the competition in a manner that ensures compliance with health and safety measures.”
The Management Board of the PZW Słupsk Regional Branch, following the cancellation of the Polish Championships, is also cancelling the Regional Championships in the various angling disciplines.
Information regarding the organisation of friendly competitions will be provided at a later date.
