The ban on organising fishing competitions remains in force
The Office of the Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) hereby informs you that, that, in response to numerous enquiries from PZW clubs and districts regarding the possibility of organising fishing competitions after 18 May this year, we would like to inform you that following the publication of the new Council of Ministers’ Regulation on 16 May 2020, the PZW Central Executive Board sought a legal opinion from the PZW Central Executive Board’s Legal Adviser, which we set out below:
“In response to your enquiry regarding the possibility of organising angling competitions following the Council of Ministers’ Regulation of 16 May 2020, lifting some of the bans and restrictions, I would like to inform you that the aforementioned Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 16 May 2020 unfortunately does not lift the ban on organising sporting events. Paragraph 13 of the aforementioned regulation continues to prohibit, until further notice, the organisation of gatherings, events and meetings, including sporting events, which undoubtedly include sporting competitions. Exceptions to the general ban apply only to gatherings of immediate family members living together, meetings between two people, meetings and gatherings related to the performance of professional or official duties, participation in voluntary activities, and the organisation of examinations.”
