The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association
is seeking an employee for the position of
Fish Transport, Stocking and Water Management Specialist
Place of work: The area covered by the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of angling and fisheries within the area of operation of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW), in particular: organising and carrying out fish stocking, fish harvesting, artificial spawning and the construction of spawning grounds.
- Transporting fish using a specialised vehicle – stocking material and fry.
- Maintaining records relating to angling and fisheries management, i.e. notifications, veterinary health certificates for fish, permits, records relating to stocking and fish harvesting, as well as the preparation of all reports for: the PZW Executive Board, owners of the waters in use (PGW Wody Polskie, County Offices, Municipalities, Forest Districts), Marshal’s Offices and the Institute of Inland Fisheries.
- Managing production, including documentation, and carrying out practical work at the stocking centre.
- Proper maintenance of equipment – timely certification, inspections and routine repairs.
Requirements for candidates:
- at least a secondary education in a relevant field – fisheries, ichthyology or related disciplines such as biology, animal husbandry, environmental protection, etc.;
- availability;
- experience in fish farming or in work related to the fishing industry or environmental protection;
- basic knowledge of the law relating to inland fisheries, water law and environmental protection;
- proficiency in MS Office;
- a Category B or C driving licence, or a willingness to undertake a Category C driving course with a commitment to complete it within 6 months;
- the ability to work in challenging conditions and under time pressure, and resilience to stress;
- the ability to organise a team and work as part of a team;
Desirable:
- a degree in inland fisheries;
- active involvement in angling;
- familiarity with the Aquarius software: pond and lake management, as a form of electronic record-keeping;
