Children’s Fishing Day – Łabędzi Pond – 2 June 2019
A total of 75 young anglers signed up to take part in Children’s Fishing Day, organised by the Regional Board of the Polish Angling Association and several Słupsk branches of the PAA on 2 June 2019 at Swan Pondin Słupsk. The event began with a fishing competition for age groups 7 to 11 and 12 to 16. The glorious sunny weather did not translate into an appetite for the fish. The rather erratic bites allowed the anglers to take part in a quiz prepared by Piotr Ptak in the meantime. A police dog training demonstration, presented with angling flair by Piotr Sankowski from the Słupsk Municipal Police Headquarters, attracted considerable interest from those present. The Słupsk branch of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society, the Słupia Valley Landscape Park and a candyfloss vendor all set up their stalls at the festival. Hot sour rye soup, prepared by the OKTAN Restaurant, awaited anglers as they finished fishing. Children and young people, fortified by the soup, took part in large numbers in sporting competitions: bouncing a ball on the ground and basketball shooting. Meanwhile, those with a talent for singing showcased their skills in the ‘Microphone for Everyone’ competition. Maja Łojewska sang her way to victory in this competition, with Grzegorz Trzciałkowski coming second and Zuzia Skalska third. Andrzej Dąbrowski and Bogusław Jazownik took charge of hosting the event. Janusz Wojsznis served as the Chief Referee for the competition. The presentation of prizes, trophies and medals to the winners by ZO President Zdzisław Ardzijewski brought this exciting day to a close.
All participants in the fishing competition received gift packs sponsored by 38 sponsors.
