for the Polish Grand Prix series
in shore and beach fishing (surf casting)
MIKADO CUP 2019
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW), on behalf of the PZW Central Management Board, is organising, on 31 May – 2 June 2019, a nationwide shore and beach fishing competition as part of the Polish GPx series, the ‘MIKADO CUP 2019’, as a continuation of the ‘Leszcz Orzechowa’ competition The competition will be held in the individual classification over two rounds and across three sectors, in accordance with the ‘Rules for the Organisation of Angling Sport within the PZW’. The Chief Judge of the competition will be national-class judge Mr Józef Janowski; the Recording Judge will be national-class judge Mr Jerzy Nurzyński. Sector Judges: Mr Piotr Jóźwiak, Mr Tomasz Rozenek and Mr Michał Markiewicz – all holding national or regional judging qualifications.

The competition is sponsored by the MIKADO brand.
Eligibility to compete in the Grand Prix series is restricted to PZW members who can provide proof of payment of the sea fishing fee together with their identity card, hold a sport fishing licence and have a valid medical certificate (or who sign a health declaration) and who have been registered by their respective PZW Districts and Clubs. During the competition (at the venue), all competitors must carry proof of a valid marine fishing licence together with their identity card.
Additional information:
- Please note that the Rules for the Organisation of Sport Fishing permit young people under the age of 18 to take part in the competition. There is no separate classification for young people – they compete in the senior category. Young people under the age of 18 may only take part in the competition under the constant supervision of a guardian. When registering young people, consent from their legal guardian for their participation in the competition must be provided.
- During fishing, assistance from third parties is prohibited (point 7.6 of the ZOSW, Part II.6); consequently, no other persons may be present at the fishing station except for one officially registered coach.
- The coach must be a person nominated by the competitor’s home district or PZW club.
- The competition will be held using ‘live fish’. Fish may be kept alive in a container ensuring their welfare (minimum 15 litres).
- It is forbidden to present gutted fish to the judging panel.
- Equipment and bait must comply with the PZW’s Rules for the Organisation of Angling Sport.
- Please note that the organiser may carry out anti-doping and sobriety checks on competitors. Any competitor who refuses to undergo such checks will be disqualified from the entire competition.
Fish caught (scored) during the competition and their minimum size limits are as follows: whiting – 30 cm, cod – 35 cm, flatfish (plaice, dab, dab-like species) – 25 cm, ide – 25 cm, bream – 40 cm, salmon – 60 cm, perch – 20 cm, roach – 20 cm, whitefish – 40 cm, turbot (skarp, nagład) – 30 cm, sea trout – 50 cm, eel – 50 cm, rudd – 20 cm, garfish – no minimum size, rainbow trout – no minimum size. The organiser does not provide bait for competitors.
Signals during the competition round:
First signal – 60 minutes before the start of the round – prepare for fishing.
Second signal – start of fishing.
Third signal – 5 minutes before the end – competitors must remove one rod.
Fourth signal – end of fishing.
Entry fees. The competition is organised on a full-cost basis, with participants covering the organiser’s expenses. The full entry fee of 230.00 zł gross (185.37 zł net + VAT) per competitor or 100.00 zł gross (81.30 zł net + VAT) per coach, covers the costs of packed lunches for competitors and coaches, judges’ allowances, competition office staff, identity badges, commemorative T-shirts and caps for competitors and coaches, dinner for competitors and coaches on 31 May 2019 and a social barbecue dinner on 1 June 2019, as well as other organisational costs. Competitors are responsible for their own accommodation and other meal costs.
Payments marked ‘MIKADO CUP 2019’ should be made to
account number BANK PEKAO I O SŁUPSK 26 1240 3770 1111 0000 4068 2901 by 10 May 2019. All competitors and coaches are required to provide their details on the registration form. To book accommodation (60 zł per person per night in twin, triple and quadruple rooms) and meals (two lunches at 25 zł each and two breakfasts at 20 zł each) at the ‘Niezapominajka’ in Ustka, which will also house the competition office, please indicate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on the information form. Please also indicate on the information form your T-shirt size (M, S, L, XL, XXL) so that we can select the correct sizes for the commemorative T-shirts for competitors and coaches (information form attached).

Fishing grounds:
- Sector A – a stretch of beach approximately 600 m to the east and 600 m to the west of the third (military) pier in Ustka.
- Sector B – a stretch of beach approximately 1 km east of the beach access point at the ‘Perła’ holiday resort in Ustka.
- Sector C – a stretch of beach approximately 1 km west of the western beach access point in Poddąbie.
- Sector D – a stretch of beach approximately 1 km east of the beach access point in Dębina.
- Sector E – a stretch of beach approximately 1 km west of the beach access point at the ‘Albatros’ holiday resort in Rowy.
Fishing stations will be spaced 50 metres apart. The decision on the selection of sectors will be made by the Chief Judge at the technical briefing.

Competitors registering for the competition consent to the processing of their personal data, the publication of their names on the results lists, and the posting of photographs taken during the competition on the district’s website, etc.
