ANNOUNCEMENT
REGIONAL SEA FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Management Board of the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) is organising the District Sea Angling Championships for drifting boats using artificial lures. The preparation and running of the competition has been entrusted to the PZW ‘Kolejarz’ Club. The Chief Judge of the competition will be Tomasz Rozenek, a national-class judge, and the Secretary will be Janusz Wojsznis, also a national-class judge.
- The Regional Sea Angling Championships from drifting boats using artificial lures will take place in Ustka on 24 March 2019 on two vessels: the ‘Sea Angler’ and the ‘Pilker’. Alternative date: 31 March 2019
- Fishing grounds: the Baltic Sea, depth up to 40 m; fish scoring in the competition:
- salmon 61 cm,
- sea trout 61 cm,
- cod 38 cm.
- Participants must arrange their own transport.
- Due to the limited number of places – 22 – entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. - Due to weather conditions, a decision on whether to hold or postpone the competition will be made on 23 March at 1.30 pm (following the forecast for fishermen). Competition participants are asked to contact Konrad Pawłowski on 785 609191.
PROGRAMME
05.30 – participants to assemble – eastern quay, by the fishing boats ‘SEA ANGLER’ and ‘PILKER’.
05.30 – 06.00 – technical briefing, draw for fishing positions and opening of the competition
06.00 – 16.00 – competition; around 11.00 – change of fishing spots, meal
approx. 16.30 – announcement of results, presentation of trophies and certificates, close of the competition.
SPECIFIC RULES:
Rod rigging systems (An ‘anchor’ is a hook with no more than 3 points spaced across a maximum diameter of 30 mm; a ‘single hook’ is a hook with a single point, the gap of which, like that of a jig head, is no greater than 20 mm. A leader is a branch line attached to the main leader or main line, with a length not exceeding 15 cm to the point where the hook or jig head is attached. A tagline is a leader attached to the main lure:
- the main lure (pilker) rigged flexibly with a single treble hook, a single hook or a so-called ‘runner’ (with a hook gape not exceeding 20 mm)
- the lure as described above, plus a single hook (jig head with a hook gap not exceeding 20 mm) on a leader suspended no further than 40 cm from the attachment point of the main lure,
- a rig consisting of an unrigged sinker and two or one (with a hook gap not exceeding 20 mm) leader with a single hook (jig head), where the upper leader is attached no further than 80 cm from the point where the sinker is attached, and the lower leader is above the sinker.
Fish of legal size that have been caught and killed are gutted by the crew. The fish are the property of the competitors. Taking undersized fish results in the competitor’s disqualification. Undersized fish must be released immediately. The minimum size limit for cod is 35 cm. In the competition, fish are measured by length – 1 cm in length equals one point. In addition, for each fish of legal size counted towards the score, the competitor receives 10 points.
