5th Słupsk District PZW Carp Fishing Championships
Człuchów, Lake Wandzińskie, 1–4 August 2019
1. The competition is organised by the PZW Branch in Człuchów and the Człuchów Carp Angling Club. The competition serves as a qualifier for the Polish Carp Angling Championships – PCM 2019. The selection of the team to participate in the PCM final takes place in accordance with the MPwWK-PCM regulations.
2. The competition is based on live bait fishing in accordance with the ‘Catch and Release’ principle.
3. The competition is open to all. Priority to enter is given to teams from the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW). Number of places available: 15 teams.
4. Entries from teams in the Słupsk District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) will be accepted until 1 April 2019, exclusively by email to dziemianczykrm@op.pl. The entry fee of 500 zł per team must be paid by 31 May 2019 into the account of the PZW Branch in Człuchów, account number 70 1020 4665 0000 3002 0001 4506, once notification of the team’s qualification has been received, with the reference ‘5th District Carp Championships’. A team’s qualification for the competition will be confirmed by email. Payment of the entry fee constitutes acceptance of these rules and regulations. The email registering the team for participation must include: the first names and surnames of the competitors, the name of the town or village from which the competitors come, details of their membership of the Polish Angling Association (PZW), specifying the district and local branch, or, if not a member of the PZW, the name of the club or organisation. Priority to compete is reserved for teams affiliated with the Słupsk District of the PZW. The final starting list will be published after 1 April 2019, together with the names of two reserve teams.
5. Each team shall fish using four rods (two per competitor). Only competitors from a given team may carry out any activities related to fishing at the station. It is forbidden to assist other teams whilst landing fish. The judges are neutral and shall not assist any team in any way.
6. At least one competitor from each team must remain at the fishing station at all times during the competition. If both anglers leave the fishing spot, all rigs must be retrieved from the water. Should one angler need to leave the competition area, the other angler must fish with two rods during that time. The competition area is defined as the immediate vicinity of the lake.
7. Rigs must be placed in the water within the boundaries of the team’s designated position. Heavy baiting may only take place between 12.00 and 18.00. Light baiting, i.e. using a bait tube or PVA bags, may take place without restriction. Any disputes shall be settled by the judges.
8. Two markers may be used to mark the fishing spot.
9. Sounding, baiting, setting markers and landing fish are permitted only from the bank, from one’s own fishing position. The use of boats, inflatable craft and remote-controlled models for deploying rigs, baiting and electronic sounders is prohibited.
10. The use of live bait in any form is prohibited. It is prohibited to reel in fish or use a rod during a storm.
11. During the competition, it is prohibited to use braided line on the reel as the main line.
12. Competitors may only fish using the hair rig method; the use of any other fishing methods is prohibited.
13. A fish that has been hooked must be landed using a landing net.
14. Until the judges arrive, the fish must be kept in a carp bag. Only one fish may be kept in each bag. Each team must have at least two bags.
15. Only carp and grass carp weighing at least 2 kg will be counted.
16. Each team must have a carp mat.
17. If a fish swims into another team’s fishing area and becomes entangled in neighbouring teams’ rigs, they have the right to lodge a protest. Should the judges uphold the protest, the fish caught will not be included in the classification. The judge will uphold a protest if it is established that the fish entered a neighbouring team’s rig as a result of negligence. In other cases, the judge will assess the protest based on their knowledge and experience.
18. A team must report any fish caught to the judges during their rounds; the judges will weigh the fish and record the result on the entry form on the spot. Each entry must be signed by the judge and the competitor who landed the fish. The judge shall call upon at least one competitor from another team taking part in the competition to assist with the weighing. The fish may be photographed and then carefully released back into the water. Fish may not be kept in a bag for longer than 12 hours in the case of carp and 1 hour in the case of grass carp. If a fish is caught in poor physical condition, or if it is a grass carp, the judge must be summoned immediately. Contact with the judges will be made via the mobile phone number provided at the pre-competition briefing.
19. Each team is required to have a fish wound disinfectant and to use it every time a fish is landed in order to disinfect the wound.
20. Fish hooked before the final signal marking the end of the competition will be recognised and included in the classification, provided they are landed within 15 minutes of the signal ending the competition.
21. The overall classification is based on the total weight of all fish caught by a team during the competition. In the event of an equal total weight of fish caught, the team that caught the larger fish will be placed higher; if the size of the largest fish is also the same, the order of placings will be determined by the weight of the next largest fish. If this is also the same, the better position will be determined by the faster time taken to catch the first fish.
22. It is forbidden to drive vehicles within the competition grounds without the referee’s permission. Leaving the competition grounds may only take place with the referee’s knowledge and consent.
23. There is a complete ban on lighting fires at the fishing ground, and a quiet zone is in force. Barbecues may be used. Loud behaviour, disturbing other competitors, or taking any items without permission may result in exclusion from the competition.
24. The organisers ask that you keep the area quiet and tidy up your fishing spot after the competition.
25. The organiser accepts no liability for loss of competitors’ equipment, material damage caused by participants, or any unforeseen accidents. Throughout the competition, competitors are required to maintain their physical and mental fitness. It is forbidden to haul in fish or use a fishing rod during a storm.
26. All other information and competition rules will be provided to competitors on site by the Organiser.
27. The composition of the Competition Judging Panel will be announced on the day the competition begins.
28. Any disputes, following prior notification, shall be settled by the judges, and their decision shall be final.
29. In the event of failure to comply with the competition rules, a team may be cautioned (yellow card) and subsequently excluded from the competition (red card), without entitlement to a refund of the entry fee or any other costs incurred.
30. An announcement regarding prizes will be made at the start of the competition.
31. Acceptance of these rules constitutes consent to the processing of competitors’ photographs and personal data by the Organiser, Media Partners and Sponsors.
