- Venue and date of the competition:
The competition in the pairs spinning from a boat category will take place from floating craft approved by the organiser: boats and inflatable dinghies. The organiser does not provide floating craft for competing anglers. Every angler taking part in the competition is required to have a life jacket and to wear it whilst competing, in order to comply with the safety requirements for boating and dinghy use in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Boats may only be propelled using oars or electric motors; internal combustion engines are not permitted. NATURA 2000 area.
The competition will take place on Lake Bobięcińskie Wielkie on 19 August 2018.
Meeting point, participant registration and launching of craft: the beach on Lake Bobięcińskie Małe in the village of Bobięcino.
- COMPETITION SCHEDULE:
06:00–06:30 Competitor registration; entry fee: 35.00 PLN per competitor (70.00 PLN per competing pair)
6.30–7.00 Judges’ briefing, explanation of the rules, all crews set off for the first bay of Lake Bobięcińskie Wielkie, starting signal to commence the competition
7.00–13.00 COMPETITION DURATION (6 hours)*
1300–1330 Additional time for competitors to reach the Judges’ Panel (30 mins)
1330–1400 Judging Panel deliberations
1400–1500 Announcement of competition results; presentation of prizes according to finishing positions; prizes for the largest pike and the largest perch caught. Prize draw for a special prize: an electric boat motor.
* The organiser reserves the right to amend the timetable should the time taken for crews to set out for the first bay of Lake Bobięcińskie Wielkie be delayed. The duration of the competition will be calculated from the starting gun and will not be subject to change)
- Rules of participation:
- The competition lasts 6 hours of fishing plus 30 minutes to return to shore and report to the Judging Panel for the weighing and measuring of the caught fish. During the 30-minute return period, competitors are not permitted to fish.
- The competition is open to adults who hold a fishing licence
- Competitors may assist one another in situations posing a threat to health or life,
- It is permitted for one pair of anglers to tow another pair, but only during the additional 30-minute period allowed for returning to the start line after the official end of the fishing session.
- It is forbidden to transfer caught fish between pairs of anglers.
- The competition will be held using dead bait. After the competition has ended, the fish caught remain at the organiser’s disposal.
- An entry fee of 35.00 zł per angler is payable upon registration on the day of the competition.
- The following catch limits apply during the competition: 2 pike and 10 perch per competitor (a total of 4 pike and 20 perch per pair)
- Fishing rods and artificial lures used in the competition must comply with the conditions set out in the Regulations for Recreational Fishing.
- The use of a gaff as auxiliary equipment is prohibited
- It is recommended to use barbless hooks or hooks without barbs
- Each competitor must be equipped with a landing net
- The minimum distance between competing teams should be at least 50 metres.
- Methods of communicating with the Judging Panel will be provided during the judges’ briefing.
- The competition will be held as a single round from floating vessels. The organiser permits only boats and inflatable craft.
- Spinning, side-line and drop-shot methods of fishing are permitted. Trolling is prohibited during the competition
- The use of a fish finder is permitted during the competition.
- A competitor may be disqualified for:
- Presenting to the Judging Panel, for weighing, fish that are undersized or do not meet the requirements specified by the organiser, or a quantity of fish exceeding the limit set out in the regulations
- Attending the competition whilst not in full mental and physical condition, or consuming substances that impair this condition during the competition
- Using unauthorised fishing methods
- Transferring fish to another competitor
- Reporting to the Judging Panel after the official end time of the competition
- Only the following species of predatory fish will count towards the score:
- Pike, minimum size 50 cm
- Perch, minimum size 18 cm
- Scoring:
- Pike – 750 points for 50 cm, plus 50 points for every centimetre thereafter
- Perch – 50 points for 18 cm, plus 20 points for every centimetre thereafter
Fish will be measured as follows: from the tip of the snout to the end of the longest ray of the caudal fin.
- In the ‘Largest Pike and Perch’ category, the winner is the competitor who has caught the longest pike and perch, measured in cm. The length of the fish is measured from the base of the snout to the maximum length of the caudal fin.
- Final provisions:
- During the competition, only the competition rules shall apply
- In the event of any dispute, the Chief Judge shall make the final decision.
Twelve trophies and twelve sets of prizes (one set per pair) will be awarded to the teams in order of their finishing positions. In addition, a trophy and an individual prize will be awarded to the angler who catches the largest pike, and a trophy and an individual prize to the angler who catches the largest perch. In total, 14 prizes and 14 trophies will be awarded during the competition.
Minors (aged 14 and over) holding a fishing licence are eligible to take part in the competition, provided that the second person on the boat forming the pair is their legal guardian.
The minor and their legal guardian are required to wear life jackets at all times whilst on the boat.
