ANNOUNCEMENT
The Management Board of the PZW District is organising a float and casting competition on 27 May 2018 as part of the SŁUPSK YOUTH OLYMPICS. A competitor’s result will include written tests based on questions from the ecology and angling test used in the National Youth Olympiads, available on the PZW Central Board’s website
The angling competition will be held using ‘live bait’ at Łabędzi Pond in Słupsk. The casting competition will take place in the area between “Łabędzi Pond” and the Police Academy, whilst the theory tests will be held in the lecture hall of the Police Academy’s shooting range on Orzeszkowej Street. The organisation and running of the Olympiad have been entrusted to the PZW “Kolejarz” Branch in Słupsk.
We invite teams of three pupils from primary schools within the area covered by the Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) to take part in the competition.
The competition will be held in the primary school category, with both individual and team classifications. Due to the limited number of fishing spots at the venue, participation in the competition will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Competitors should bring their own keepnets for storing the fish they catch. At the fishing ground, the amount of groundbait is limited to 3 litres per competition session. Competitors and supervisors are to assemble at Łabędzi Pond, next to the fountain, on 27 May at 7.00 am.
Entries will be accepted at the PZW Regional Office or by telephone
no later than 24 May this year.

RULES
§1 PARTICIPANTS
The competition is open to young people who are members of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) and form teams representing angling clubs run within schools, in the primary school category.
§2 EVENTS
Competitors will compete in three events for the title of Champion of the Słupsk Youth Angling Olympiad:
- Ecology and angling knowledge test
- Casting competition (2 events)
- Float fishing competition
Re. 1. Environmental and angling knowledge test
- The questions are prepared by the Youth Committee
- A correct answer is worth 1 point; maximum 20 points.

- Teams of three compete
- the competition is held in a single round, in accordance with the RAPR and the regulations set out in the ‘Rules for the Organisation of Angling’

- the organiser may shorten the duration of the competition in exceptional circumstances
§3 SCORING – RESULTS
- Final scores at the various levels of the competition:
- the individual championship is the total of points scored by a competitor in all events
- the team championship is the sum of the points scored by all competitors in a given team across all events
- In the event of a tie, the final position is determined by the number of points scored in:
- the test, and if still tied,
- the float fishing competition, and if still tied,
- the casting competition
§4 ORGANISER
- The organiser of the Olympiad is the Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (PZW).
- The organisational costs of the event are covered by the Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (ZO PZW).
- The travel costs for participants and their supervisor to the competition shall be covered by the sending organisation.
§5 PRIZES
The Słupsk Regional Branch of the Polish Angling Association (ZO PZW) will provide trophies and certificates for the individual and team winners, and a meal for all participants.
